WHAT IS SU.PA.?
Su.Pa. “Successful Paths, Supporting Human and Economic Capital of Migrants” is a project co-financed by the European Union under the Thematic Programme of Cooperation with Third Countries in the areas of migration and asylum, an instrument contributing to the implementation of the migration policy of the EU, as defined in the Hague Programme. The Programme aims, among others, at managing the migration flows by involving greater cooperation with third countries in several fields, including the facilitation of remittances and the return of migrants. The underlying basic principle is “co-development”, as to say the acknowledgment that migrants are a developing factor for their countries of origin and that partnerships with third countries need to be encouraged in order to broaden the positive impact of migration in both origin and destination countries
WHY SU.PA.?
Su.Pa.’s main objective is to support the human and economic value of Senegalese migrants by promoting effective tools to facilitate return paths and encouraging the economic development of the Kaolack Region in Senegal. The project intends to reinforce the relationship between Senegalese migrants and their country of origin, to improve their access to credit, to assist projects of business start-up, and to favour public-private partnerships
